• Following the decision by UB Distribution Services to withdraw from the direct distribution of frozen foods by the end of March, enabling them to concentrate resources on the ambient sector, the frozen distribution contract has been awarded to Hays Distribution Services — the multi-discipline distribution company within the Hays Group.
The acquisition of this business adds approximately 3 million cases/year to the frozen movements of HDS, and will be operated by the newlyformed Frozen Distribution operation, created by the integration of David Price Frozen Foods and Farmhouse Frigoscandia Distribution.
The contract, operated from two stockholding centres and five depots, will involve HDS taking over some of the existing 16 vehicles in the UB frozen fleet, and adding a further five draw-bar units to increase distribution flexibility and costeffectiveness.
