H. W. Kingsbury has been appointed chairman of lndustrialite Quiet Power Ltd, a new company formed jointly by Industrial ite Holdings and Perkins Engines to make lndustrialite soundreduction materials for engine and engine-powered equipment manufacturers. Mr Kingsbury is deputy chairman of British Uralite, parent company of lndustrialite, of which he is a director. J. P. Allan, formerly general manager of North and East European sales operations of Perkins Engines, becomes director of operations. The board includes two directors, finance and logistics respectively, from Perkins Engines — J. M. Felker and V. F. Frayling J. N iblock (a group executive of the National Bus Company) has been re-elected chairman of the council of the Road Operators' Safety Council. Four vice-chairmen have also been re-elected, namely E. A. Lainson (coach and independent bus sector of the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport); R. MacKenzie (Scottish Road Passenger Transport Association); L. Smith (Transport and General Workers Union); and P. Yorke (Conference of Omnibus Companies). W. F. Hancock, who since the retirement last June of R. L. Howlett has been acting secretary, has been officially appointed secretary.

David Main has been appointed divisional truck sales manager for British Leyland s Truck and Bus division. Mr Main has been at Scammell Lorries since 1948, latterly as general sales manager (home and export).

Roland Dixon, marketing director of the parts operation of British Leyland Motor Corporation, has retired after 45 years in the motor industry.
