There has been no lull in the activities of the different centres of the Furniture Warehousemen and Removers Association-there are 23 throughout the country-and meetings are being held in a number of areas. On Wednesday, Mr. H. V. Bishop, the president, addressed members of the Kent centre, at Canterbury. He said that the work of the Association was being more appreciated and there was a growing membership.

The relations of the removal trade with the railway companies came under notice, and Mr. Bishop emphasized that if they wished to secure cooperation it could be achieved if the railways were prepared to give the contractor the incentive to work in co-operation with them. He felt that it was not beyond the ability of the railways to devise a suitable scheme.

Mr. T. Ormesher, who is senior vicepresident of the Association, addressed a meeting at Liverpool yesterday, under the auspices of the West Lancashire centre.
