Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• I'lans are underway to transfer the operations of AJS subsidiary York City and District, with the closure of Malton depot and the ultimate closure of the central York garage.

Malton depot starts up as a separate company next month with 11 vehicles and 20 staff. It will be renamed Yorkshire Coastliners and will report direct to the North of England Travel Group, which is owned by AJS Holdings.

Discussions on City services are still at an early stage, but the company intends to replace the central garage with four suburban depots on low-cost sites.

Closure and redevelopment of the Rougier Street premises is expected later next year, when the exact size and locations of the four new "mini depots" has been determined. The company has confirmed that sites near the York outer ring road are preferred and at least two of the locations will be minibus depots.
