• Imperial Tankers, which was bought out from ICI last April, plans to spend V million on new vehicles next year.
It is also looking at a large Merseyside depot, which would consolidate its presence in the North. Robinson says Imperial will "strengthen its local presence" to "combat the cahotage challenge" from European companies, Imperial now has an international Operator's Licence and is to increase its pool of international drivers from six to around 24.
