Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• C ummins is to launch four new diesel engines in the UK, including the most powerful version of its 14-litre unit — the 347kW (465hp) Super E465.

The E465, which debuted at the 1988 NEC Motor Show, will be seen installed in a British 38-tonne tractor by the middle of the year.

So far the only European manufacturer to fit the E465 is Sisu in Finland.

The engine features air-towater charge-cooling and steptiming injection control. Other engines on the way include a 157kW (210hp) charge-cooled version of the 5.9-litre BSeries engine and less powerful variants of the 6BTA.

As predicted by Commercial Motor in 1988, Cummins will be carrying out trials in the UK with engines fitted with its Electronically Controlled Injection (ECI) system before the end of the year, but ECI will not be fitted on the first E465 power units to reach the UK.
