I RAN SPORT Development Australia, the British Transport Development Group's subsidiary, made record profits in 1984/85.
Figures just published show profit up 31 per cent to AS3.68 million (11,7 million) before ON on turnover up 25.7 per cent to AS49.7 million (22.7 million).
Warehousing and cold storage performed well, and increased activity and profit margins helped the haulage companies. Two haulage businesses, Greenway's Refrigerated Transport and Arnolds Transport's Sydney local cartage business in Sydney, were sold.
TI3G is now offering AS7.4 million (3.4 million) for the 30 per cent of Transport Development Australia which is owned by minority shareholders. The offer is conditional on receipt of acceptances from at least 75 per cent of the holders of the shares and for 90 per cent of the shares.
