RENA UL 1 'Frock Indust and its dealers will spend million next year in developing its trade network, its chairman and managing director, Laurent Brisset, announced last week.
He was speaking at the opening of a new West London dealership for WestIon Trucks, a 11 million Park Royal site which replaces older premises.
Brisset said that Renault intends to remain a major British commercial vehicle manufacturer, and far from letting its existing Dodge truck range disappear, has added 24-tonne and Perkins TV8 and four-cylinder engilled models to the range.
The Westlon dealership is being followed in February by the full-scale opening of a new East Scotland dealership operated by Houston Trucks of Edinburgh.
The Bryce Houston Company has established the company to handle its newly won Renault/Dodge dealership and has appointed Tom Chalmers as its truck sales manager. It aims to offer a full parts cover.
