Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TO STRENGTHEN its sale and marketing in a growing market for contract hire, BRS Northern has made three new appointments.

Alastair Meikle is promoted from area sales manager to business development manager. His new role will be to support and monitor sales progress for the company throughout the northern region. He will also be responsible for the preparation of individual branch business plans and the co-ordination of marketing effort between branch and sales personnel.

Roger Thompson is appointed area sales manager with sales responsibility for the company's Sheffield, Knottingley, Doncaster and Barnsley branches. He joins from Seddon Atkinson dealer, the Ryland Vehicle Group. Mike Donelly joins BRS Northern from Ryder Truck Rental as area sales manager for the company's Newcastle, Darlington and Teesside branches.

• Increased contract hire and transient rental business have prompted Trailerenc to revise its sales and operations team. Four UK regions have been created and are headed by a manager responsible for total business generation and operation.

The South and South West is handled by John Rice; Gerry Franklin takes Eastern and South East England; Gabriel Collett is now responsible for business in die Midlands; and Ray Downey takes care of the North and Scotland.
