• The number of jobs in the transport industry will increase over the next six months, according to a new survey by Lloyds Bank Commercial Service.
The Business in Britain survey—carried out twice a year—shows that orders and exports are both up despite the strength of sterling, and 22% of companies have increased their profitability through price rises.
Although the number of firms reporting cashflow problems is up 6% to 40%, 28% intend to recruit more staff.
The survey involved 87 middle-market businesses in the industry.
