NATIONAL Bus Company subsidiary United Automobile's electronic engineer, Robin Plummer, has won a special commendation in the NBC "Chairman's Award for Innovation". Mr Plummer invented and developed an electronic control system to regulate alternator output.
The device, called the R11, has brought substantial savings on both fitment and operating costs. United has set up an electronics division to market the device, initially to other NBC subsidiaries and this has now been extended to any interested psv operators.
