• The Port of London Authority is increase its charges from September 7.
The increases on shipping charg ranging from 10 per cent on the hire of ill plant to 27+ per cent on conservancy, dc and river mooring charges and 17-1per ei increase on import and. export goc charges, are due to the adoption of 1 recommendations on the pay for dc labour made by the Pearson Court Inquiry.
The PLA has established that costs now substantially increased and hE adversely affected the original calculatic made for the implementation of dou shift-working consequent upon t introduction of Devlin Stage II.
The Mersey Docks and Harbour Bo; has warned that it may have to incre; port charges later this year—for the sa reason.
