Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO basic models of new semi-trailers from Patchett and Co. Ltd., Westland Road, Leeds, 11, have now completed severe operational tests and production has started. The company is a member of the Tilling Group and units are being marketed under the Tilling name. At present, two basic models are available: one for a payload of 14 tons and one for 20 tons. The prototypes comprised these main units with varied suspension systems, the standard design employing Rubery Owen running gear and special models incorporating instead the well-tried Atkinson equalizer beam suspension with Kirkstall Forge axles.

The accompanying illustration shows a Tilling 20A semi-trailer with the Atkinson system. The frame has castellated main beams with a hexagonal box cross-member inset and welded. The main frame design. employing high yield stress steel, is aimed at giving a low tare weight. It is understood that models with air suspens'on are likely to be introduced at a later date. As this-manufacturer is a relatively new entrant to the trailer field, it will be possible for the factory to embark from the outset on new designs suitable to the requirements of the amended Motor Vehicles • (Construction and Use) Regulations.
