'Bus Drivers Have Difficult Task'

COVENTRY bus drivers who were presented with safe-driving awards were told by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Aid. Tom Whiteman, that theirs was a "difficult and responsible task ". The Lord Mayor congratulated the drivers and said: "You are craftsmen and your job is to guide large numbers of people through the city streets. I am only too well aware that your job is getting more difficult every year."
Mr. G. Cribdon, who has 36 years' service with Coventry Corporation, received a bar to his 20-year brooch. Nine other drivers received bars to ISyear brooches. In all, 263 drivers will receive awards.
