between the United Africa Co., Ltd.. Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., and Duple Motor Bodies, Ltd., a consignment of 19-23-seat knocked-down buses will shortly leave for Ghana and Nigeria.

A notable advance on buses of local construction, the vehicles are based on the Bedford ..12SZ 119-in.-wheelbase chassis, converted to forward control by the bodybuilders. Passenger-type springing has been adopted for the rear axle to give a more comfortable ride. Overall dimensions are: length, 18 ft. 3 in.: width, 7 ft. 6 in.: and height. 8 ft. 6 in.

Framing is in steel sections and the construction is single-skin throughout: The flat floor is 4 resin-bonded ph and the seating—slatted or upholstered to choice—is of tubular steel. Two ventilators are provided in the roof.

These buses are primaril■, intended for the smaller operator. Powered by the Bedford petrol engine, and of straightforward construction, they should prove easy and economical in maintenance. They are basically of utilitarian appearance. but various optional extras are available where a more luxurious version is required.
