Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Although well in advance as regards the total value, the present year is not showing any development in the number of commercial vehicles exported from the United States as compared with the previous year. The latest returns available are those for May last, during which period 9,061 vans, lorries and buses, valued at 11,277,761 were shipped from the United States, these figures contrasting with 10,533 and 11,255,770 respectively in the corresponding month of 1927. The exports during the first five months of the year are given as 47,899 vehicles (16,684,050), as against 47,911 (15,965,750) in the corresponding period of last year.

• It is interesting to note that the ratio of exports to the total Atnerican exports now amounts to about 241 per cent, and that of the vehicles shipped in the five months 36,720, or nearly 77 per cent., had a carrying capacity of not more than 20 -cwt. The next division, 2050 cwt. vehicles, was responsible for 9,801 of the total, leaving only 1,378 vehicles having a carrying capacity of over 21 tons. • So far as the destination of American vehicles is concerned, the return shows that Australia continues at the heed of the list, being credited with 4,282 vehicles of the total. The Argentine Republic is, however, a close second, with 4,249 vehicles, the remaining markets in the order of their importance being Brazil, the United Kingdom— which is credited with 3,789 vehicles— Sweden, Canada and South Africa.
