Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Fraserburgh

It took more than 100 years and four generations to evolve, so no wonder the family-owned business of Gibb’s of Fraserburgh was one of the bestrespected transport concerns in the land

Words: Bob Tuck / Images Geoff Milne Sometimes a company comes along that does things – image, presentation and working practices – just how they should be. True, there were always situations where a delivery wasn’t made at the exact time they said it would, but if you chose Gibb’s of Fraserburgh as your preferred haulier, then you knew you had selected one of the best.

That’s quite a glowing compliment for a irm based as far north and as far east as you can probably get on the UK mainland and which, at its peak, usually ran no more than 20-25 vehicles. But speak to any member of that long-established family concern and they will tell you the reputation of their Gibb name was something they were immensely proud of. And if the day ever dawned when they felt they couldn’t give the very highest standard of professional service (while still receiving a fair remuneration), then they’d simply close the door.

Sadly, that day dawned in May 2002. ■
