PARCELS CARRIER City Link wants to base seven vehicles and trailers at a new operating centre on the Hatield Business Park in Hertfordshire.
The business has invested £750,000 in the 42,000ft2 depot, which will replace existing smaller facilities in Cricklewood, Hemel Hempstead, Luton and Welwyn Garden City. About 120 staff are employed at the site, including 65 drivers.
Mick Hegarty, general manager at the Hatield depot, says the move was necessary to manage operations more cost-effectively and service an expanding customer base in the area.
