Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

to perpetuate in your columns the TGWU-inspired myth that Trusthouse Forte is the big bad wolf of the trucking world. Please may we state categorically once again that we do not discriminate against drivers nor ban them from our establishments. The plain fact is that circumstances vary from place to place and at South Minims, what seems to be the biggest bone of contention, we are just not in a legal position to offer facilities because another company has the planning consent for providing them. Elsewhere we operate motorway service area facilities with large parking areas reserved for trucks and we are pleased to welcome their drivers.

As many of the familyorientated Little Chef restaurants throughout the country, parking areas are neither large enough nor sufficiently strong to accept HGV's and often access to main roads is unsafe for large vehicles. But, as we have always said, drivers are most welcome at these restaurants if they can find somewhere, perhaps a layby, to park their lorries.

John Robbins Trusthouse Forte, Holborn, London WC1.
