THE ROAD Transport Industry Training Board's Motec training centres have been granted a stay of execution, provided they work within stringent financial limits.
A board meeting last week reaffirmed support for the Motec (Multi-occupational training and education centres) at High Ercall, Shropshire and Livingston, West Lothian, but set more stringent financial targets for them in 1984/85 and 1985/86.
RTITB chairman John Armstrong told CM that High Ercall, which faced a bleak future a year ago, had now fully achieved the targets set for it in February 1983. It will concentrate on management, sales and operational training and, in common with Livingston, will be engaged in the RTITB 's distance learning programme.
