Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS pleased to see my six-axle combination featured in Commercial Motor, March 2, but somewhat upset to be branded as a tax dodger. The plain fact is that the law prescribes a lower rate of road tax for six axles than for five so there is no question of tax dodging.

Your caption writer is also wrong in stating that the third axle on our trailer will be kept raised permanently. On the contrary, it plays a vital part in obtaining correct distribution and is therefore lowered whenever the rig is loaded. CHARLES WRIGHT Agricultural Merchants Old Leake, Boston Lincolnshire
