FLEETCARE, the National Freight Consortium's automotive care and maintenance subsidiary, has a new managing director.
He is Bernard Lott, who comes from a similar position with GKN Replacement Services, where he spent three-and-a-half years in charge of its 110-branch network distributing replacement vehicle parts.
His track record of merging three separate loss-making companies into one and improving profitability by 80 per cent over two years is of value to Fleetcare, which has been subject to management overhaul by NFC over the last year.
Mr Lott's career has largely been in sales and marketing, with several large businesses like J. Lyons Bakery, Marley Tiles and Unilever, and spent 1974-79 with the AE Group, initi ally at AE Edmunds Walker as its marketing director.
He also formed a new AE subsidiary, EW Bearings, which concentrated on bearings and power transmissions sales and became a profit earner within two years.
