continue in business pend A BASINGSTOKE operator who can read but not write may reconsideration of his case by the deputy Licensing Authority. The Transport Tribunal was told in London last week that there was sufficient improvment in Roy Gibbons's maintenance system to justify referring the matter back to the deputy LA.
Following a roadside check last May and a fleet inspection six weeks later, Gibbons was called to a public inquiry and had his licence revoked with effect from January 30. The revocation was suspended pending appeal.
Gibbons ran only vehicle and one trailer and rived all of his income fr this activity. He did his o maintenance.
At the inquiry, it was sta that GV9s had been impoi on the vehicle for use of ty without sufficient tread a for allowing a defect to 0C4 in the fifth wheel.
Further defects were fou on the vehicle in the later spection, and the trailer 11 mixed radial and cross' tyres on one axle.
Maintenance records W1 not adequate and the gara did not have a pit.
