nESPITE a debt of about £40,000 an LI the loss of. thousands of passenger on its bus services, Newport council ha decided not to sell the transport under taking.

A motion to dispose of the buses wa defeated by 24 votes to 10, after a debat during which Councillor David Turnbul deputy chairman of the transport commii tee, forecast a brighter future for th undertaking. "Revised schedules hay been worked out and there will be saving of over £20,000," he said.
