Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Morris-Commercial 3O-cwt. Chasssis as Basis of Mobile Grocer's Shop

THE somewhat striking vehicle shown in the accompanying illustration is operated by the Leigh Friendly Cooperative Society, Ltd., and was designed and built with the object of bringing the goods of the company

right to the customer's door. The basis of the machine is a Morris-Commercial 30-cwt. chassis, and the body, which was built to the operating company's own specifications, is the work of Messrs. Harry Gerrard, Mather Lane, Leigh, Lancs.

This travelling shop, for such it is, is fitted out with special racks for foodstuffs and groceries, there .being five rows, making 90 racks in all. One of the most interesting features lies in the well which runs the full length of the body. The floor of this well comes on a line with the top of the rear-axle casing, a section of the floor being actually attta.ched to the axle; consequently it goes up and down when the vehicle is in motion. Suitable provision is made for this and a flexible floor covering excludes the entry of dust.

• Access from the cab to the interior is gained by a sliding door, whilst customers can step into the " shop," to he served under cover. The actual counter is at the rear and runs the full width of the body. On the left of the assistant is a bacon-slicing machine and positioned on his right is a set of scales.

Air conditioning has been arranged for by the installation of an electric fan at the forward end of the body, whilst there is a Flettner ventilator at the rear. Good air circulation and a degree of natural lighting are obtained by the lantern-type roof which has been cleverly built-in without detracting from the general good appearance of the outfit.

The doors at the rear are of the leaded type and slide on rollers. It will be noticed from the picture reproduced that there is a display cabinet immediately behind the driver's cab, and this feature is repeated on the near side.
