Super Space Cab XF as a flagship; ownerdrivers buy them for their living space and comfort. With the 12.6litre engine the XF has been accepted as a new model, free of most faults associated with the 95 Series. Although the 48ohp engine is promoted as providing the level of power best suited to 44 tonnes, all the operators we talked to seemed happy with the performance of the 43ohp engine. Fuel consumption is on a par with other top-of-therange tractors of similar power and residuals have remained strong, beating some of the more established contenders. The 4x2 chassis, with more space to hang large fuel tanks, is a popular option among ownerdrivers. Availability in the used truck sector is low, and demand even for early examples remains strong.
