• Abbey Hill Group has been purchased by Cascade Trading, a Canadian company based in Quebec, which has no other transport investments in this country.
Roger Bastable, chairman of Abbey Hill says the sale went through on September 5, at "the eleventh hour".
The sale follows the breakdown of talks between the unions at Abbey Hill and TNT, the group which had been negotiating the purchase of Abbey Hill since May this year.
Allan Stewart, the Transport and General Workers' nion's local representative is seeking a meeting with Cascade.
