Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

article in the 30th of August issue of Commercial Motor, concerning David Allen's vehicle and in particular the attack on Dafaid.

Speaking on behalf of the professional truck operator who, unlike these modern day Skid Solos, believes that commercial vehicles should be used for better things than racing round a circuit, I would like to say a few words in support of Daf and its back up system.

If there is one singular reason why Daf has achieved their undoubtable success in recent years, it is the fact that Dafaid is quite simply the best available.

May I suggest that Daf be judged by its superb record in providing a speedy and efficient service to numerous

operators who have relied upon their professionalism in the past and not by the sour grapes' whinging of a boy racer whose toy broke down because he played with it too roughly.

Mr present company has operated Dais for the last 9 years. We presently have 20 tractor units in the fleet that have a combined yearly mileage of over 2 million miles. On the few occasions we have needed to rely upon Dafaid, their response has been exemplary.

Prior to joining Gagewell Transport, I was the Managing Director of Plane Trucking which operates 17 Daf vehicles throughout Europe. During my 5 years with them there were several occasions where Eindhoven was put to the test and it always came through.

Dafaid isn't perfect, but if there is a better back up service, I haven't come across it. Stephen D Cooke Managing Director Gagewell Transport Dewsbury West Yorkshire
