• Tony Rieger is the new managing director of TIPEurope. Formed following a management buy-out from the American Gelco Corporation, TIP-Europe is the parent company of all TIP Trailer Rental companies on this side of the Atlantic.
Based at TIP-Europe's Amsterdam office, Rieger will be in control of sales, technical and operational management at all TIP European branches and divisions. He will report to TIP chief executive Jim Cleary who commented: "With the purchase of TIP-Europe we have set ourselves some challenging targets and 1 am glad to have Tony's capable assistance in the hard work ahead that will be necessary to achieve our objectives."
After eight years with Frigoscandia Rieger joined TIP in 1977 as South UK division general manager. He was promoted to managing director of TIP United Kingdom in 1980, becoming operations director in 1983 and vice-president in 1984_
C TIP-Europe operates Western Europe's biggest trailer and chassis fleet from 40 depots in nine countries. In the 12 months ending July 31, 1985, it had a turnover of £25 million.
