Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Several manufacturers of anti-lock braking systems are in the queue to buy up ASC Maxaret.

The Coventry-based company, suffering severe financial problems for many months, has finally gone into Receivership and is up for offers.

Earlier this year Maxaret introduced its new anti-lock braking system for tractive units and rigid vehicles — the CRM Maxaret — but sales were not as good as had been envisaged and were not enough to save the company.

Along with the UK-based company, included in the "for sale" package are two companies registered in Ireland — holding company PCB Controls and its subsidiary Anti-Skid Controls, providing the technical back-up to Maxaret's product development.

The Receivers hope to sell the business as a going concern to safeguard the jobs of the six people still working for the company.
