THE FIRST regular year-round passenger and freight ro-ro service between the Faroe Islands, Scotland, Denmark and Norway will be introduced by Strandfaraskip Laudsins on October 1. P and 0 Ferries is to be the general agents for the service out of Aberdeen, and Scottish Road Services is to co-ordinate all freight movements.
During the winter months, the 2430 ton MF Smyril will set out from Torshavn in the Faroe Islands for the week-long round trip.
Smyril already operates a similar service from Scrabster in the north of Scotland from June to September each year.
