THE COMMISSION on Industrial Relations was wound up on Monday under the provisions of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974. In its final report, surveying its work over the past five years, the CIR call for the preservation and development of its function.

A new agency is required, says the Commission, to carry on the kind of investigatory studies first undertaken by the National Board for Prices and Incomes and refined by the CIR.
