The 5 basic British-sized DAF rigids are trimmed for increased
payload, lower running costs. Turbocharged DAF diesels of 6.17 litre, giving 155 bhp, or 8.25 litre for 2.or and 216 bhp.
Smallest is the 12 ton FA 1600 DT, built for the man who wants a long-life vehicle for fast travel with lighter loads (if you call 25 tons gtw light). Next the FIvIz000, weighing in at 16 tons gvw. Biggest, but lightweight still, the two 81 litre jobs: the FAS 2005 DHB, a 6 x 2 24 tonner and the FA 2200 DU, much favoured by operators looking for a powerful long-life drawbar vehicle of up to 36 tonsrw for maximum weight haulage.
