Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hands Trailers Ltd. of Letchworth, is to introduce air-operated S-cam brakes on its range of small automatic coupling semitrailers. It will be the first time that S-cam brakes have been fitted to this kind of trailer.

Typical installations of the brakes are on show at the Commercial Motor Show (Stand No. 116), fitted to the company's range of small automatic coupling semi-trailers for matched operation with the Ford 0300 motive unit.

The brake assemblies have been designed for Hands Trailers by the Moss Gear Co. Ltd. of Birmingham and are of 12-iin. diameter with 4in. wide linings, thick and with Ferodo AM2 lining material. Each brake has a swept lining area of 97.5 sq.in.

To meet European transport regulations, 121in. diameter by 5in. wide brakes will be fitted, to the semi-trailers manufactured by Hands European licensees -Ekselse Konstruktie Werken PVBA., of Eksel. Belgium.

The greater brake fining thickness will provide longer life to semi-trailers primarily intended for local delivery work, with numerous stops in town and city traffic. The cam brakes will be introduced as standard fittings in early December this year.
