OBiTLIARY

We record with regret the death of Frank E. Greasley. Robert Edward Keeble. and John Marshall.

Mr. Greasley. 54. operations officer, East Midlands district, BRS, died in Derby hospital on Saturday.

Mr. Keeble, 66. started his own company. Robert E. Keeble Ltd.. Manchester, in 1964. From 1946 to 1964 he was in charge of the bodyshop of Seddon Diesel Vehicles Ltd. fit became Pennine Coachcraft Ltd.) and was elected to the board.

Mr. Marshall. 47, managing director of Gordon B. Caldwell, haulage contractors of Wishaw. since 1957, died after a road accident on MB GlasgowEdinburgh Motorway on Saturday.

Construction equipment division: chairman, H. C. Ryan.

Overseas division: managing director. J. H. Plane. Among other appointments in the new divisions. Arthur Fogg is appointed deputy managing director of truck and bus division: A. T. Webster continues as director of sales (home and overseas) of truck and bus division: F. Clem is appointed managing director of construction equipment division; H. J. L. Suffield is appointed London sales director of British Leyland.

Sir George Harriman has spent his whole working life in the motor industry and with companies which are now part of British Leyland. He joined Morris as an engineering apprentice in 1923. Austin in 1940 and became a director in 1945. When BMC was formed in 1952 he was appointed deputy managing director and became deputy chairman in 1956. Hewas made chairman in 1961 and'in'i65 had a knighthood conferred upon him for services to export. He became chairman of BN1H in 1966 and last year was appointed president of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, a position he still holds.
