Marshall of Cambridge (Engineering) Ltd., Omnibus Division, Airport Works, Cambridge ONCE AGAIN Marshall is exhibiting a single-deck bus for the Northern General Transport group of companies. Unlike the last Show exhibit, however, the vehicle is of a striking new design and is designated the Camair Standee-type. Mounted on a Leyland Panther PSURIA/1R 18ft 6in. wheelbase chassis, the 36ft lin. front entrance, central exit body seats 48 passengers, and is of all-welded steel construction. It is claimed to be 3cwt lighter and yet stronger than the present Marshall standard body and to comply fully with all standardization features now required by the Ministry of Transport.

The body is completely restyled, with modern angular lines, full-depth windows, shallow roof and built-in ducting for air and electrical equipment as standard. The entrance and exit doors are Deans airoperated type and are fully glazed. All windows are of the fixed type with normal windows on the offside and standee windows on the nearside. A KL270 forced-air ventilating system with punkah vents and a KL650 heating unit are fitted.

In keeping with Northern group practice, the interior decor has been styled by John and Sylvia Reid Associates and follows a new "Northern Rose" scheme, including a new moquette to replace the "Tyneside Tartan" formerly employed.
