OF special interest on the Spenborough stand, an all-aluminium tipping body is of all-welded construction. Details include pressed-aluminium cross-bearers, a floor and sides and ends of lOg material, the sub frame being also of aluminium. The body has a length of 14ft 6in., is mounted on a Dodge K1050 chassis and is elevated by a Spenborough UPT under-body tipping gear having a capacity of 12 tons.
Other Spenborough tipping gears on view include the EP 43L single-ram front-end type having a capacity of 4 tons, the EP 1700 single-ram front-end gear of 12-tons capacity and the 25-tan EP 2000 singleram front-end gear. These are fitted respectively to a 10ft 6in. wood-and-steel tipping body having detachable sides and corner posts which is mounted on a Bedford 3-ton chassis, a I 3ft 6in. steel body that also has detachable sides and is based on a Ford D1000 16-ton chassis, and a second weldedaluminium body having a length of 2811 which is carried on a York tandem-axle trailer hauled by a Foden twin-steer unit.
