TWO variations of the now well-known Loid-O-Matic demountable-body system are exhibited on this stand in conjunction with an example of the recently developed Pengco light-alloy tipping body.

In one case a Load-O-Matic body is mounted on Seddon chassis and will be used by the Belling company for the carriage of domestic electrical appliances. A second application comprises a mobile canteen and in this case the support legs can be retracted into the body to allow it to be lowered to ground level. It is mounted on a Bedford chassis.

A lightweight tipper body of 11 cu.yd. capacity is seen mounted on a Dodge KT.900 chassis and is elevated by an Edbro 5LN twin-ram front-of-body tipping gear. First applied to steel bodies, the monocoque construction of the aluminium bodies eliminates the use of conventional body runners, all the tipping stresses being absorbed by specially designed sides that act as girders.
