British Trailer Co. Ltd., Pheonix Works, Richmond Road, Trafford Park, Manchester 17

A TANDEM -AXLED lightweight for operation at up to 28-ton g.v.w. is the centrepiece of the BTC stand. This vehicle embodies the BTC twin inverted-spring trunnion suspension in which the axles are carried between an upper and lower spring on each side. The system allows the fullest possible articulation of the bogie while at the same time avoiding axle-hop under braking without relying on radius rods or non-reactive linkages. The trailer shown is 30ft long, bears the model number W 6000 and is said to weigh 3 tons I3cwt complete with an 18in. steel-framed headboard.

The second vehicle on the BTC stand is a dual-purpose flaticontainer carrier and this is mounted on the BTC Four-In-Line running gear.
