Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ACTION EXPRESS is expanding under the leadership of new MD Elaine Harris, with new vehicles, new business and plans to acquire additional warehousing space.

Harris joined the Northampton-based parcels and pallets firm in March after being a customer.

“I knew Syd [Ziaullah], the MD, and since he’d been promoted to the board of APC Overnight he needed someone to take over the business. I knew nothing about transport, but have fallen in love with the industry,” says Harris. “I’ve been out on the road with some of the drivers to get an idea of what it’s like to be a multi-drop driver and it’s hard work.” Action Express runs a fleet of 40 vehicles consisting of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, 7.5-tonners, 18-tonners and a couple of 26-tonners.

“We’ve just bought three new Sprinters to comply with the London Low Emission Zone, and are also due to receive two new 18-tonners,” says Harris.

The firm has picked up a contract to deliver direct into the Olympic village, and is planning to go after more Olympic work next year.

“I also want to expand the overnight business and get involved with a lot of the smaller internet firms that tend to stick with the same carriers they started with. I want to offer them more flexible rates,” says Harris.

Harris also wants to expand Action’s storage offering. “I’m negotiating for a new storage facility so we can offer more to existing customers.”
