Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Ford has made a number of changes to the drivelines of the light commercial vehicles which it will be exhibiting at the Birmingham Motor Show.

Three new engines and two new gearboxes are the main changes, with the Ford Transit's 2.5-litre DI diesel reworked to meet future EEC emmissions legislation. The unit now gives 52kW (70hp), and 146Nm (108Ibft). All Transits now receive either the new five-speed MT75 gearbox, or the new four-speed automatic gearbox with a locking torque converter. The new Ford 1.8-litre diesel engine will now be fitted in place of the 1.6-litre diesel in all diesel Ford Escorts, and on the new model Fiesta when it appears next year. The unit delivers 45kW (60hp) and 110Nm (81Ibft).

The Ford Escort vans also get a new 1.3-litre "lean-burn" petrol engine that replaces the existing 1.3-litre option, which can operate on unleaded fuel without adjustment, and has set-for-life electronic ignition. It delivers 46kW (62hp) and 101Nm (74Ibft).
