Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• In order to combat increased rail competition in the Cardiff-Aberdare corridor, National Welsh has announced a coach service on much the same route, with departures every two hours.

There are 11 rail journeys on Saturdays and eight on Mondays to Fridays. At present, the coaches are operating in red, white and blue express colours, though the final livery is yet to be decided.

The journey times are comparable with those of the trains and National Welsh expects to cream off substantial numbers from the route, which also serves Pontypridd.

Li From 23 October there is to be a sizeable revision of National Welsh minibus services in Pontypridd now that it has taken over the municipal company Taff Ely.
