• Ensign has launched a new 53-seater luxury coach called the "Charisma" in the UK market, built by Yugoslavian manufacturer FAP Famos, The coach is based on the Mercedes 0303 coach but with a starting price of £82,000 up to £95,000 for the Charisma, Ensign estimates its coach costs around 225,000 less than its Daimler-Benz factory-built 0303 equivalent.

The coach is powered by a 209kW (280hp) Mercedes-Benz 0M422 vee-eight 14.6-litre engine mounted vertically at the rear. It also comes equipped with a Mercedes-Benz front axle type VO4/13 DL-7 RL and a Mercedes-Benz rear axle type 4/01 DL10 and MercedesBenz power steering.

A ZF S6-90 synchromesh six-speed gearbox is also included and air suspension on each axle with four telescopic shock absorbers with two air bags at the front and four at the rear. The bodywork has an integral, all-steel box section underframe with anticorrosion treatment. There is also one-piece steel side panels and aluminium, hinged side locker flaps.

The entrance is 700min wide with a front passenger plug door, air-operated with peage window and automatic retraction if something obstructs its closure. There is an underfloor heating system and full rack overhead heating. Air conditioning is available, controlled by a thermostat.
