THE ROAD Haulage Council of the Road Transport Industry Training Board has re-emphasised its commitment to encouraging the training of fork lift truck operators as well as boosting haulage training.
In its meeting last month, the council said that, as for the past 14 years, it wished to continue giving independent advice to all sectors of industry.
A meeting of both the Motor Industry and Road Haulage Councils agreed to bring modular training to the road transport industry.
Foundation modules already exist for vehicle maintenance, servicing and transport and distribution.
Post-foundation modules will also be developed, both of a standard and advanced nature. The RTITB says that it will publish and implement the first post modular courses in June next year.
