AROUND 10 of Tate and Lyle's controversial Bedford TK lorries will feature in British Car Auctions' biggestever commercial vehicle sale later this month.

Over 80 Tate and Lyle vehicles are being included in the 350-vehicle sale, and around 10 to 12 of these will be Bedford TKs with their nowillegal Ceschi self-steer axles removed.

As reported exclusively in CM, June 23, these vehicles had their Ceschi axles removed in an emergency programme to comply with Ealing Magistrates' inter pretation of the C and Regulations.

Same of the vans have bee rebuilt with shorter over hangs, but those due for early replacement were run simply with reduced carrying capacities.

Other Tate and Lyle vehicles in the sale at Farnborough on October 27 will be Crane Fruehauf 21-ton box trailers, Fodens with Gardner and Cummins engines, Leyland Lynx 28-tonners, AEC Mercury 26-tonners, and a 3,500 gallon BTC tank trailer for liquid sugar transport.
