A The Motor Vehicles (Construction and
Use) (Amendment) Regulations 1967 No. 1270 increased the maximum permitted overall length from 11 metres to 12 metres (39ft 4.5in.) and the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness) (Amendment) Regulations 1967 No. 1269 correspondingly permitted a turning circle of not more than 78ft in diameter. These regulations came into operation on 11 September this year.
