The EA advises that you follow this good practice: • Identify whether there are areas of contaminated land • Install protective barriers around fuel stores to reduce contamination risks • Provide hard standing areas for refuelling operations • Ensure all refuelling operations are supervised and spill kits placed near fuel stores with staff trained in their use • The EA will advise on fuel bunkering; use of oil separators; safe disposal of oils; use of steam cleaners; garages and workshops; pollution incident planning
