Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GENERAL Motors, which sells more commercial vehicles in Canada than any competitor, is emphasising more engine options and fuel efficiency for its truck ranges for '83.

The Brigadier J9 models will have the new Cummins L-10 turbocharged in-line six diesels next year — available in turbocharged and aftercooled turbocharged versions.

A new high-visibility fibreglass tilt hood is offered as an option on the 9000-Series GMC Brigadier (see picture 1, page 61). The General (picture 2) has new suspensions and axles. It also features new cylindrical fuel tanks (90 or 40 gallons) or rectangular ones (120 and 180 gal).

The GMC heavy-duty truck line-up is again exclusively diesel, including Detroit Diesel 6V and 8V silver 92s.

The new Aero Astro (picture 3) has urethane components to improve the efficiency of its cab. A full-width callapsible dragfoiler, gap filler panels, contoured bumper end caps, bumper air dam and damageresistant grille and front panels give the Aero Astro a bold, new appearance.

The fibreglass dragfoiler has accordion-fold urethane sides. This allows the dragfoiler to be folded down easily to reduce aerodynamic drag when the tractor is driven bobtail and allows versatility of the tractor for pulling van trailers, flatbeds and tankers. The 18-inch wide fibreglass gap-filler panels attach to the rear of the cab to

substantially reduce air drag associated with cross-winds.

GMC is offering hydraulic disc brakes as standard on certain medium-duty truck models (picture 4) in 1983. The new brake system is a 50/50 split design featuring separate hydraulic brake lines between the front and rear wheels.

Expanded engine offerings, new tandem rear axles and five-speed transmission are available for GMC medium-duty models for 1983. The axles have a wide range of economy and performance ratios to suit a variety of applications and the new transmission is ideally suited for mid-range diesels and large gasoline engines (picture 5).
