THE CASE against Suffol haulier Barry Norman and tw of his drivers involving mot than 50 allegations of driver hours and licensing offence (CM October 23) has been ac journed for the second time b the Lacldord Magistrates and i now unlikely to be heard unt the new year.

Alan Charlton, prosecuting fc the Eastern Licensing Authorit) said the case concerned permi. ting people to drive lorries with out either ordinary or heav goods vehicle driving licence: More time was required by th prosecution to organise wil nesses and evidence.

The defence indicated that I had no objection to a further ac journment.

The drivers are P. J. Addidoi and B. E. Palmer. The first face seven charges of driving withou a licence, seven of driving with out an hgv licence, eight of driv ing excessive hours, and one o failing to give his name am address to a traffic examiner The second, three charges o driving without an hgv licence.

Mr Norman, of Mildenhall, charged with permitting thi hours and licensing offences.
