This was pointed out by the Road Raulage Association in reply to a request from the Ministry of Transport to inform operators of the need to supply correct and adequate information.
The Ministry pointed out that where the load of exceptional dimensions was carried under the Construction and Use Regulations, the form of the notice needed to include only details of time, date and route Of the journey and the appropriate dimensions. Additional informatIon was required where permission was sought under the Authorization of Special Types Regulations.
The R.H.A. has undertaken to ask members not to make avoidable errors. but points out that because precise information is not always available beforehand, some latitude would be desirable.
